  • Josh Hirshfield

    CEO & Founder

    Josh founded Pyrebug Studios in 2019 while studying Digital Media & Design at the University of Connecticut, with the mission of building meaningful experiences of play. Since then, Pyrebug has grown and collaborated with teams across the games industry, building games that party, puzzle, and teach.

  • Devin Quinn

    COO & Designer

    Devin joined Pyrebug near its founding in 2019, and was the Lead Developer, coordinated, and launched Rubicon with Pyrebug. Devin then became the COO of Pyrebug in 2020, overseeing organization management and external communication. He was then the Lead Developer of EOS-503, responsible for the programming and development architecture of the game.

  • Mackenzie Fox

    Project Director & 2D Artist

    Mackenzie served as the Project Director of Scrapshoot, as well as the Lead 2D Game artist on EOS-503. On Scrapshoot, Mackenzie was the sole 2D pixel artist, handling asset creation, animation, GUI design, and overall art direction. From 2020 to 2023, Mackenzie was the 2D Game Artist on EOS-503, creating more than 300 modular, animated pixel art characters for the game's NPCs and character creator, as well as implemented the game's UI in Unity.

  • Meaghan Doherty

    2D Pixel Artist and Concept Artist

    Meaghan was a 2D Pixel Artist for EOS-503, primarily helping to build environmental artwork and NPCs. She also served as the Concept artist for Elirium, and several other internal Pyrebug projects.

  • Ben Guzik

    Game Designer

    Ben joined Pyrebug Studios as a Game Designer in August 2019. Ben contributed to the design and documentation of multiple Pyrebug projects.

  • Chris Janocha

    Game Designer

    Chris worked with Pyrebug on several projects, serving as a tertiary designer and developer to supplement many projects where needed.

  • Zack Anderson

    Auxiliary Systems Programmer

    Zack worked to develop several gameplay systems in EOS-503, Scrapshoot, and several internal Pyrebug projects.

  • Eric Laputka

    Level Designer

    Eric joined Pyrebug Studios in July 2020, bringing experience in level design, 3D modeling, and programming. Eric worked on game design and coding for later updates of Scrapshoot, as well as several other internal Pyrebug projects.

  • Clare O'Hara

    Data Collection Programmer

    Clare worked as the primary data collection programmer on EOS-503, working directly with the University of Connecticut to ensure player data was properly tracked, marshalled, and sent to the EdTech department. She was also a game developer for several other internal projects at Pyrebug.

  • Matthew Tomaszewski

    Game Developer & Game Director

    Matthew served as the interim director of Scrapshoot, as well as a designer and developer on the project. Matthew also served to build several internal projects at Pyrebug.

  • Rowan Lindquist

    Game Developer

    Rowan worked as a developer on several Pyrebug projects, including Scrapshoot, and helped with tertiary systems in EOS-503, Elirium, and several more internal projects.
